Some people say that the sights are too crowded to enjoy and that I'd be better off watching a video..what do you think?

I have not heard that at all. I didn't think that Egypt would be so crowded.

No matter how crowded something is, I think it's always better to be there in person than to see a video, anyway. It's all about the experience of witnessing something for yourself.

I haven't heard that either. I think no matter the crowd size, that some places are worth it, though.

Yes... if someone isn't able to see a world destination, then I think videos of the place are
a great thing.  If there's any way to see something in person, though, that's definitely the
best way.  Just can't capture the full ambiance on a video.

I would definently take the crowds to be able to see the things in person. Maybe going in the more off season would help with the crowds.

I'm a big advocate of traveling off-season.  Not for the crowds either... many places offer
lower priced accomodations for off-season, too.

You're are so right that it is so much cheaper in just about everything when it is off season. The only downside I have found is some things might not be open during the off season.

I love to travel off season, the prices alone can be what is worth it. Then you couple that with the fact of less tourists and it almost always makes for a great trip.

I think it would be worth putting up with all the crowds. It is something you might never have a chance to go again. So I would put up with all the people.

Yes... there *is* a problem with this when a certain place doesn't actually have an
off-season.  Some Caribbean destinations and some in sunny parts of Europe come to
mind... but then often they have rainy seasons, so that could be a problem, too.

To be honest I would rather put up with the crowds over the rain. I am not a person that cares for the way I feel when I am drenched.

I am not a crowd person, I prefer to not be in big huge congested crowds of people when I am trying to enjoy myself. For that matter anytime. I think faced with a choice between rain or crowds I would have to pick rain.

crowd or no crowd...the idea here is to enjoy yourself...anyway who would want to go on tour and find yourself in streets where there are no people?
