Have you been to Egypt? Are the pyramids really surrounded by motorways and pollution?

I have never been, but I surely hope that the pyramids aren't surrounded by those things!! That would surely take away from the whole experience.

If I remember right they are on the outskirts of a bigger type city but I don't think they are surrounded by the city.

They are protected for the most part, from those things (luckily!)  If you go there to see
them, be sure to see the light show after dark!

Go to pyramidcam.com and there is a real time camera to see the pyramids. Just thought someone on here might like to see this. It is pretty neat.

I used to keep an eye on a pyramid cam that was really cool to watch.  I don't remember the web address,
but for some reason, this just doesn't look like the same viewing angle.  In any case, thanks for this address!

You're welcome. This is the only one that I have found but I will have to see if I can find the other one you are referring to also.

Have you seen them with this cam near to nightfall when the lighting shows happen and
the pyramids are lit?  It's even more spectacular than seeing them in the daytime.

I have seen them when they are lit at night. But I haven't caught the actual light show yet. I really think they are beautiful all lit up at night.

Oh yes!  Can you imagine what a sight that would be from the hotels from which
they're visible?!  Daytime views would be incredible in their own right, but all lit up...
beautiful!

You're welcome, hope you get to see the light show on it. I haven't caught that yet. I would love to stay at a hotel where you could see the pyramids outside your window.

They not only do the light shows in the evening, but they also do it various times each
night in different languages.

I caught the light show last night. You're right it is very beautiful. I really hope to see this in person next year if everything works out.
