Title: Safari Question
Post by: tater03 on September 30, 2007, 01:01:34 PM
Someone was telling me that you can do Safari's in Africa where instead of riding in a jeep or something like that you can actually do the safari while riding on an elephant's back. Does anyone know of a safari that does this? I think this would be an awesome way to do a safari.

The only place that I have seen anything like this was on tv and in movies. I think that riding on an elephant would be an amazing experience, but I would feel too unsafe. I think I would rather be in a jeep.

I Don't think that I would want to ride on the back of an elephant for an entire safari. Seems a bit too scary/unsafe for me. Not to mention I would not want to walk around smelling like an elephant the rest of the day.

I think rideing on an elephant would be neat, but I don't think that I would ride on one for that long. I probably wouldm't be able to walk the next day.

Oh, I would do it in a minute. I think I would just feel safe on an elephant because they are just so huge. If I find anymore on this I will let you know in case you do decide you want to check it out.

This can be done at Victoria Falls.  Not sure about other places, but I'm thinking it's probably not the only
place that it can be done.  The time with the elephant is about three hours.  I'm not sure I'd feel safe all
the way up there... well in fact, I'm sure I wouldn't, but it would certainly be an experience!

I think if I stayed on an elephant for three hours I would be entirely sore and completely stinky. No thanks, I am a country gal, but not that much.

Of course these elephants are not wild! Some may have been in captivity already since they were born. Others might be problem animals from national parks. One thing they all have in common and that is the fact that they are trained to be ridden.

Have fun!
