No tourist destination in the world is 100% safe. I live in Nairobi Kenya and like all cities across the globe, we have issues and problems.  The idea behind this post is to make your travel experience as hassle free as possible and not to put my country in a bad light

One of the things you need to watch out for the moment you land in Nairobi is that the airport has people who want to "help" you carry your luggage to your vehicles. The problem is that they dont do it for free. So if you are in position to carry your luggage, dont accept help because these people demand payments after they have carried your luggage

Also, while doing a city tour, you might come across people (old ladies) who will ask you to help them carry their luggage for a short distance. They strike a friendly conversation with you and when you shake their hand, you black out and they steal your valuables

If you need to exchange currency, use the forex bureaus. They have better exchange rates than the banks

Enjoy your safari in Kenya
