I always thought that elephants moved slowly, but then again I guess if it is a herd that is in a stampede I can see them going fast. I do not want to be where they are headed towards though.

I haven't literally seen this, but I can imagine it and it's not a pretty sight.  I wonder
if something needs to scare them to start a stampede, or is it more of a normal
happening that they run that way?

I sure wouldn't want to see a stampede up close that is for sure.

I remember a friend of mine from Thailand told me that they use elephants to play Polo. Just like they do here with horses but it is with elephants. I thought that was different.

Using elephants to play polo? That is a different twist for sure. I have never saw any kind of stampede up close. I have saw an elephant up close before though.

Surely elephants are too slow for that kind of thing? Somehow it seems a bit odd.

I looked around on the internet and I will be darn if my friend wasn't right. They do play polo on elephants. Who would have ever thought of this game being played using elephants? http://www.dcelephantpolo.com/about.htm

hehe  Well now I must say that it would certainly be a sight to see!  I don't even want to know
how they deal with the... uh.... cleanup.   Smiley
