We are trying to find things to do on our next big trip. In doing that I want to compare places, living arrangements, climate and things that are available to do in each place. So what do you do when you go to Kenya?

Where will you be staying.. Nairobi? If you, you'll want to do the national park and some of the
museums. Maybe the Giraffe Center, too.

They have a Giraffe center? What else is there for Nairobi? Is the Giraffe Center like a zoo or what?

I found some information on the giraffe center.

It looks really interesting, and like a very educational and informative place to see animals. I wouldn't mind visiting.

Nairobi has a lot of things to do.... Nairobi National Park for one thing. The Kenya National
Museum and Kenya Archives would be interesting to most people. And then there's always
shopping.
You can check out the park, including fees, at

I had not run across the Giraffe center. I will have to check the links out above. Thanks for the suggestions. I to want to make sure I see the main things. I do have to say have you thought about doing a safari while visiting? I just didn't see it mentioned in your post and to me that is a must for us when we go.

I was assuming that the original poster meant in addition to a safari since it's Kenya. That's definitely
the first thing I'd check into in case that's not what they meant.

Thanks for the Nairobi National Park link. They look great as well! Keep them coming. And yes, I meant in addition to a Safari. Thanks again.

Giraffe Center is boring really and am sure you wont spend more than 2 - 3 hours there, you need to go to Amboseli National Park and spend 1-3 days on game drive, now thats more interesting because with the right tour group or hired transport you can go out there and track the Lions, Hyenas or the elephants.
Also the area is really beautiful, the scenery gives you a taste of Africa. Nairobi ain't fun at all, you get the same old stuff back at home, its crowded and everyone is always on the move, I prefer peaceful and fresh, now Amboseli has exactly that, because you will never see mount Kilimanjaro as beautiful as it is on this Savannah park.
